These may be the most famous words Clint Eastwood – as Dirty Harry – has ever spoken. Certainly these words are recognized by an entire generation or two. My second serious boyfriend was a Clint Eastwood lookalike but it didn't last. People would say to him 3 has anyone ever told you you look like Clint Eastwood?" and I would roll my eyes and mutter under my breath "for god's sake!" Anyway....
.....my question this week is are you a lucky person or are you an unlucky person?
Do you believe in luck or do you think it's generated by hard work and a positive attitude?
In the Conversation Club which starts again on Monday the 5th of January we will be discussing this subject;
Here are 2 conversations that you can practise and prepare for the conversation club :
Person 1: Do you believe in luck?
Person 2: No, I don't think so. I believe that everything happens for a reason and it's not just based on luck.
Person 3: I agree with Person 2. I think we make our own luck by the choices we make and the effort we put in.
Person 1: Hmm, I see what you mean. But I still believe in luck. Sometimes good things just happen to me out of nowhere and I can't explain it.
Person 2: That's interesting. Maybe it's not just luck, but also the power of positive thinking and attracting good things into our lives.
Person 3: Yeah, that could be it. I think it's important to stay positive and hopeful, but also to take action and not just rely on luck.
Person 1: Yeah, I agree. I'll try to remember that. Thanks for the discussion.
Conversation 2
Person 1: "I can't believe I won the lottery last week. I never win anything and I bought a ticket on a whim. I feel so lucky!"
Person 2: "Wow, that is lucky! I've never won anything like that before. But on the other hand, I had a really unlucky day yesterday. I spilled coffee all over my shirt before work and then I got a flat tire on the way home."
Person 1: "Yeah, luck can be fickle like that. I had an unlucky streak a few months ago where everything that could go wrong did. But I guess it's all about balance."
Person 2: "Definitely. It's all about the ups and downs. Like, I was lucky to get a great job right out of college, but then I was unlucky to get hit with a huge medical bill a few months later."
Person 1: "Yeah, it's all about perspective. Sometimes it's hard to see the lucky moments when we're in the middle of the unlucky ones, but they're always there if we look for them."
Person 2: "Absolutely. I try to stay positive and focus on the lucky things that have happened to me. It helps me get through the unlucky times a little easier.
see you on Monday!
